Account Supervisor

The Role

We're looking for an Account Supervisor to join one of the industry's strongest agency teams.

In this role, you will ensure that our client needs are met strategically and tactically, and will maintain an effective level of direct contact with our clients. You will monitor and guide the account team’s daily activities, and provide sound and thoughtful coaching to those that report to you. You will oversee the account's growth and profitability, and the development of the account.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain strong relationships with all senior-level client personnel
  • Ensure client relations are positive and stable; and that management is immediately informed of any potential problems, budget overruns, etc.
  • Review strategies and recommends improvements
  • Review campaign conceptual directions to ensure strategic marketing objectives remain in focus
  • Ensure client needs are properly and efficiently staffed
  • Oversee the activities of direct reports (as applicable) in coordinating all digital and print deliverables on behalf of assigned brand(s)
  • Coach and provide feedback daily and as needed to account executives; guide direct reports in career and skills development
  • Work closely with supervisor and project management to monitor job costs vs. estimates
  • Work with account team to establish strategies for development of media plans and evaluation of their effectiveness; assist in assessment of on-going programs with client
  • Monitor accounts receivable and credit-worthiness of accounts
  • Ensure that financial management of accounts meet agency standards
  • Lead in agency/client contract negotiations
  • Seek out organic new business opportunities within your brands
  • Participate in Agency/Client Performance Plan reviews
  • Approve expense disbursements from account executives

  • Demonstrated strategic thought leadership
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high stress, deadline-driven environment
  • Experience presenting information, both verbally and written, to clients and senior management
  • Demonstrated ability to provide marketable solutions in conceiving, developing, and producing tactics
  • Demonstrated excellence in attention to detail and follow-through
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, with an analytical approach
  • Strong organization skills, and interpersonal dynamics are necessary
  • Effective listener
  • Proven abilities of financial accountability (with client and agency budgets)
  • Ability to travel on as-needed basis
  • Advanced verbal and written communications skills
  • Product launch and new business development experience is preferred


  • BA/BS degree, with coursework emphasis in communications, advertising, or science
  • 5+ years agency pharma account management experience
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience with team-building skills and mentoring abilities
  • Demonstrated experience with multi-channel marketing, including social media
  • MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
