The Art Supervisor will partner with the Copy Lead to develop original design concepts for a group of the agency’s key accounts. You will also partner with the Account, UX, Strategy and Development teams to ensure all client needs are being met and deliverables are impactful and on strategy. Art Supervisors are responsible for delivering innovative, compelling creative solutions grounded in an understanding of the science, strategy, and goals of the assigned brand. Art Supervisors oversee project design all the way through execution.The position will require frequent client interaction and presentations and may require some travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Copy Lead to turn critical strategic analysis into viable creative concepts
  • Concept and design integrated brand experiences for all mediums including print, experiential, mobile, responsive websites, videos, email and collateral
  • Effectively visualize and create concepts into an end-product, giving direction on photography style, imagery, typography, iconography and navigation optimized for the web
  • Successfully collaborate with copywriters, project managers, designers, strategists and developers from conception until launch
  • Follow established creative workflow to ensure adherence to deadlines and brand guidelines
  • Interact with clients with the goal of building relationships and understanding client vision/direction
  • Present designs and concepts internally to team and externally to clients
  • Maintain an up to date knowledge of ever-changing design and typography trends
  • Supervise and mentor art directors
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of assigned therapeutic categories, science, competitive set, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in strategic promotional planning for assigned brands
  • Direct photographers, illustrators, and freelancers as needed
  • Assist creative director(s) with agency work, including new business, as needed

Essential Skills

  • Must possess strong presentation skills, demonstrating thorough understanding of subject matter. Has the ability to persuade based on scientific acumen, a solid grasp of therapeutic category, the brand’s challenges, and the personalities involved
  • Possess solid understanding of the science and market dynamics of assigned product(s)
  • Organize and develop multiple projects at once
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Experience working collaboratively with all levels of designers and copywriters
  • Strong mentoring and supervisory skills
  • Mastery of composition techniques (multiple elements and interactive pieces) to produce polished finished pieces, with strong attention to detail
  • In-depth understanding of color theory and color relationships, typographic terms, page composition, current production techniques, photographic process for print and digital
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective direction at photo shoots, effectively check and approve work on press, effectively organize and prepare electronic materials for output, and communicate knowledge of assigned product(s)
  • Comprehensive computer photo-retouching and imaging development skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of art direction experience in an agency environment
  • Experience within pharmaceutical and/or healthcare environment
  • UX/UI experience a plus
  • Expert in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Sketch
